The Sam Boyd Stadium was completed in 1971 at a cost of $3.5 million. In 1999 Sam Boyd Stadium hosted the CONCACAF Champions Cup soccer tournament. Since 2000, the Sam Boyd Stadium has been home to the USHRA Monster Jam World Finals monster truck event, promoted by Clear Channel Entertainment. Sam Boyd Stadium is also home to the Supercross finale.
