 Joscelyn Eve Stoker, born on April 11, 1987, better known under her stage name Joss Stone, is a Brit Award-winning and Grammy Award-nominated English soul and R&B singer. At 14, Joss Stone appeared on Star for a Night on BBC Television singing Franklin's A Natural Woman. Joss Stone has performed with such artists as Blondie and Gladys Knight. After being signed by S-Curve Records, Joss Stone flew to Miami, Florida, to start work on her debut album, The Soul Sessions. Joss Stone was already working on an R&B debut album when The Soul Sessions were recorded. After achieving critical acclaim for The Soul Sessions, Joss Stone recorded an album full of original songs and released her second album Mind, Body & Soul on September 28, 2004. In July 2005, Joss Stone performed at the Live 8 concert in Hyde Park, London, and did a duet with singer James Brown on UK chat show Friday Night with Jonathan Ross. |
