The Cumberland County Civic Center is a 6,746-seat multi-purpose arena in Portland, Maine. Built in 1977 at a cost of $5 million, Cumberland County Civic Center is home to the Portland Pirates ice hockey team. ZZ Top was the very first act to play the Cumberland County Civic Center when it opened on March 3, 1977. The Cumberland County Civic Center also hosted the America East Conference men's basketball tournament in 1980.
