 3 Doors Down is an American alternative rock commonly known as Rednecks, band formed in 1996, in Escatawpa, Mississippi. 3 Doors Down signed to Universal Records in 2000 for their first record, The Better Life. They received international attention with the release of the single Kryptonite. In 2002, Away from the Sun, was released with the first single being When I'm Gone. The song featured a video in tribute to American troops, filmed during 3 Doors Down's October 2 concert aboard the US Navy aircraft carrier USS George Washington while anchored in Lisbon, Portugal. 3 Doors Down released their third studio album, Seventeen Days, in 2005, and it debuted at number one on the Billboard 200.
